LocVox operates opt-in email “clubs” (such as a Birthday Club) on behalf of local St. Thomas businesses. When you join a business’s club, this policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Your first name and email address.
• Your birthday month and day (never the year).
• The business whose club you joined, and the date, wording, and confirmation of your consent.

How we use it

Only to send you email from the business you joined — a birthday offer around your birthday and the occasional offer from that business. That’s it. We never sell or rent your information.

Consent & double opt-in

We email you only after you explicitly opt in and click the confirmation link we send. If you don’t confirm, you receive nothing further. This is express consent under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Each business is separate

Joining one business’s club does not add you to any other. Your subscription, and any unsubscribe, applies only to that business.

Unsubscribing

Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link (and the one-click header supported by Gmail and Outlook). Unsubscribes are honored immediately.

How email is delivered

We send through Amazon Simple Email Service (SES), which processes your email address solely to deliver these messages on our behalf. Bounce and complaint signals are used only to stop sending to addresses that should no longer receive mail.

Retention

We keep your information while you’re subscribed and, after you unsubscribe, only as long as needed to honor your request and meet our legal record-keeping obligations.
